Born from a love for Africa. Built on trust, respect, and connection.

Eyes on Africa Safaris is a family-run safari outfitter based in Kenya, offering tailor-made journeys through Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar since 2001. We’re proud to say we’re big enough to rely on—but small enough to care, crafting each trip with the kind of personal attention only a family business can offer.

But our story starts long before the bookings and itineraries.

Eyes on Africa Safaris - family owned safari tour operating business. The best safari experts with knowledge for safaris in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar.

Who We Are

Originally from Slovenia, Nevenka Lepenik and Roman Biondic founded Eyes on Africa after falling in love with Kenya on a trip that changed their lives. Welcomed into a Maasai community in the Masai Mara, they spent a year living in a traditional homestead—herding cattle, learning the land on foot, and being given Maasai names as part of their new extended family.

That early experience shaped everything they believed in: connection, cultural respect, and travel that goes beyond the surface.

With time, they built their company from the ground up—first in Nairobi, then later on Kenya’s coast where they raised their two children. In the Loita Hills, they brought a long-held dream to life: Maji Moto Eco Camp, a cultural retreat designed to celebrate Maasai traditions, create opportunities for the community, and share this way of life with respectful travelers.

Today, Eyes on Africa continues to grow—still rooted in the same values, still run by the same family, and still passionate about creating private, authentic, and unforgettable safaris that honour both the land and its people.

  • Our driver Daniel was outstanding; he accompanied us throughout the journey, providing explanations about the various parks and landscapes we passed by in the car. He was friendly, and thanks to his dedication, we were able to see rhinos at Lake Nakuru. A big thank you also goes to Agnes, who always supported us with any request or information. They never made us feel alone, especially when recovering our lost suitcase! Truly top marks—100 out of 100.

  • In july, we went with our family and with another family to Kenya with Eyes on Africa. Major was our guide during the trip. We had the most wonderful time in Kenya; it is a beautiful country that has a lot to offer. Major was the most enthusiastic guide we could wish for! He really did the best he could for us at any time. If we could do the trip again, we would do it exactly the same. There was so much fun and laughter; exactly what a good trip should look like!

  • We had an amazing 6-day experience with Eyes on Africa Safaris in the Masai Mara. Everything was perfectly organized, and our driver was with us the whole time – skilled, friendly, and always focused on safety. As a family, we really appreciated the child seat and the smooth, safe rides. We stayed at Eco Camp Maji Moto, a beautiful and authentic place surrounded by nature. The staff, all local Maasai, were incredibly welcoming and made the experience even more special. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere truly unforgettable. We saw lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and more – a truly magical adventure. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a safe and authentic safari in Kenya!

  • Eyes on Africa put on an amazing safari for my friends and I. It was the trip of a lifetime. Our guide, Issac, was tremendous, and he made the trip even more memorable.

  • Everything from start to finish with our family trip to Kenya was perfect! Agnes who helped creating our itinerary was really helpful and understood our needs as a family. Our guide Maxwell, who drove us around Kenya for 10 days, became part of our family. He was the most caring, knowledgeable, service minded and most of all FUN person to spend time with, REALLY making our experience so much better than expected. He never used an GPS and knew Kenya as the back of his hand. He got us to see the rarest animal sightings in Masai Mara first, really demonstrating his experience. We were first on sight to see Black Rhino, we saw a big gathering of lions, hyena, vulture and jackals scrambling and fighting on a buffalo carcass. We also saw Leopards several times, hippos and a lot of crocs and hippos. We also stayed at the Maji Moto Eco Camp, which were probably the highlight of our stay. I truly recommend going here as part of your journey in Kenya. Our most memorable moments were definitely hanging out with the people in this camp as well as with our guide Maxwell. The animals were amazing, but the people were truly special! Hoping to come back as soon as possible, as this journey made a life lasting impression on us, and especially on our kids! Thank you Team EyesOnAfrica!
