Mount Kenya, astoundingly just 16km from the equator, 12 glaciers continue to shape the jagged roots of what was once Africa’s tallest mountain. After seeing the 5199m worth of dramatic remnants that today comprise Mount Kenya – now Africa’s second highest mountain. Of the three main peaks (Batian, Lenana and Nelion), only point Lenana (4985m) can be reached by trekkers and the other two being only for technical climbers.
